ST. GABRIEL YOUTH GROUP VOLUNTEERS AT MISERICORDIA HOME
On Saturday, May 15th, members of the St. Gabriel Youth Group travelled to Misericordia Home, a residence for over 600 people with developmental disabilities. The teens interacted with the residents in a loving, caring way and brought smiles to many of their faces. The youth assisted the adults with two outside “nature” scavenger hunts on their beautiful campus on the far north side of Chicago. It was the first time that the residents had experienced a scavenger hunt, and they enjoyed making new friends with the St. Gabriel Youth!
The St. Gabriel Youth Group is open to students in Grades 8-12. Our motto is “Making A Difference”, and we have participated in a number of service projects that have given the teens a great chance to put their faith into action. If anyone would like to join the group, please contact Fr. Rich Creagh, the moderator, at 773-268-9595
