YOUTH GROUP TO SPONSOR BLOOD DRIVE ON SATURDAY, MARCH 6

The St. Gabriel Parish youth group is organizing a Blood Drive on Saturday, March 6th, from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m in the School Hall. We will be working in conjunction with Heartland Blood Centers, who meet the needs of patients in 35 hospitals in the Greater Chicagoland area. There is an urgent need for blood every day of the year, and the Youth Group is taking this on as a special Lenten project. If you are looking for something “extra” to do for Lent, please consider giving the “gift” of life by donating blood here.

Donating blood is a simple process that takes less than one hour of your time. Eligible donors should weigh at least 110 pounds, be 17 years (16 with parental permission) of age or older, and be in good health. Our neighborhood has a well-deserved reputation of reaching out to those in need, and we are asking for your assistance in making this blood drive successful.

We are asking for your help in two ways – 1. Spread the word about this blood drive to your family, friends, and neighbors, and encourage them to be a donor. 2. Call the rectory (773-268-9595) to get an appointment time for yourself to donate blood. We are also planning on being at all the weekend Masses on Feb. 27-28, to sign parishioners up for appointment times to give blood. If you have any questions about the blood drive, please contact Fr. Rich.
