What a wonderful day it has been for our Youth Group! We had our biggest turnout of youth and adults, who put together Christmas Care Packages for the military from our area. About 100 members attended the 11 a.m. Mass and then gathered to put together 23 (our largest number ever!) packages. Included in each of the Care Packages were letters of support from the youth. This is the 11th year we have sent the Care Packages. We are very grateful for the tremendous amount of items that people donated, and for the financial contributions that helped to pay the postage. We deeply appreciate the military’s service to our country, and are grateful that they are preserving our cherished freedom! All of the surplus donated items will be distributed to sick veterans, when our Youth Group visits the Jessie Brown Veterans Hospital in Chicago on Saturday, Jan. 19th (mark your calendars). I can’t begin to tell you how proud I am of all of you – Canaryville youth are the BEST! Always know and believe that our group is “Making A Difference” in the lives of many people in need! Please let me know if you ever need me for any reason.
